He is a small orphan boy, an only child who lost everything due to a tribal war in his homeland. He was six years old when his father was killed in battle defending their town, and had just turned seven when his mother sent him to be taken away to safety the day their large village was attacked. Ellias climbed into the waiting carriage filled with refugees and rode off in it waving his final goodbye only, minutes later, to witness his family home burned down by a dragon attack troop even as little Ellias watched in horror from the escaping carriage. The carriage made it out of town but was waylaid only a short while later by ruffians taking advantage of the chaos. Ellias was helped to get away and hide in the trees even as the bandits worked to grab and capture as many of the refugees as they could to take and sell as slaves. It was a harrowing scene; one that imprinted on Ellias's memory firmly. He was now alone in this cruel world with no one else to help him and only his wits and the clothes on his back as his assets.
