THE RAPTURE EVENT

That future moment when all the saints of God, both dead and living, are changed in a moment and caught up to meet the LORD in the air as He returns to signify the beginning of the END or the beginning of the Tribulation period also considered the end of the Church Age.

Or at least that is traditionally the view but of course there are a variety of ways to look at it. Here are some of the more prominent and popular views of the Rapture timing among Evangelical Christians:

  • Pre Tribulation Rapture

  • Mid Tribulation Rapture

  • Post Tribulation Rapture

  • Post Tribulation - Pre Wrath Rapture

  • Partial Rapture Theory

  • OTHER odd theory I don't know about

And just in case you made it to this page without the explanation, here is what the "Secret Rapture" is:

Most western evangelical Christians believe that the next prophetic event on God's timeline is the Rapture of the saints or the church which will kick off the "End Times" or the Tribulation years. Some also call this the Apocalypse or Daniel's 70th Week.

But the Rapture itself is the specific event where God shows up in the sky or atmosphere of the Earth suddenly and without any warning alongside a trumpet blast and His many angels which is then immediately followed by all believers in God being taken up bodily to meet Him in the air alongside all the resurrected Saints who have died and whos bodies come up out of the grave. All these resurrected and then raptured Saints receive new glorified bodies and any physical clothing or body accessories are left behind on Earth or in the coffin. This event is theorized as being a "secret" because it is assumed all the unbelievers of Earth will not see or hear any of it but will simply see all their Christian friends suddenly disappear along with all children under the age of accountability. This event is fictionalized or dramatized in both book and film form through the LEFT BEHIND Series.

The Earliest Reference to a Secret Rapture in 1830 though most who hold to this belief don't even realize this fact. They think their so called Rapture doctrine traces back to the first century.

This Documentary created by Good Fight Ministries is controversial within fundamental circles since it challenges the precious "doctrine" of the secret pre tribulation rapture theory that is most popular among the religious elite of the fundamentalists.
